BOX: Tea Chest

This is vintage wooden tea chest was most likely used for transporting tea from Indonesia, as indicated by the markings on its side. Whilst these types of crates were commonly used in the tea trade for centuries, this crate was utilised as a prop in window displays and a riser for product ladened baskets in store later in life. The rusting metal strips, and water-stained plywood enhance the beauty of this vintage piece.
