PROP: Bakelite Telephone

Available is this black Bakelite rotary dial telephone, designated as PMG S1/401. It belongs to the Series 400 telephones, which were released in Australia in 1957 and included features such as an improved anti-tangle handset cord. While the dial and cords were generally imported, most other parts of these PMG phones were produced in Australia. During World War II, this local manufacturing was useful when import supplies were unreliable. This distinctive item evokes memories of yesteryear and serves as an excellent focal point for discussion.
